CAPITOL EXTENDS P21 MILLION AID TO ALS, DEPED BY: JANE SALIMBAOPosted: January 7, 2022
THE Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, through the Local School Board (LSB) chaired by Governor Bambi Emano, released P21 million in funds to the Department of Education and programs for the Alternative Learning System (ALS) in the province, in a turnover ceremony at the Capitol on December 13, 2021,
The P21 million in funds break down as follows: DepEd-Division of Gingoog City- P3,365,100.00 for 1,600 personnel; DepEd-Division of Misamis Oriental-P15,605,800.00 for 7,800 personnel; DepEd-Division of El Salvador City- P1,042,600.00 for 500 personnel; and honorarium intended for Alternative Learning System (ALS) personnel – P1,000,000.00.
Caroline Ner, LSB project manager, who represented Governor Emano during the turnover, said the P21 million fund is apart from the 150 reams of bond paper to the Division of Gingoog City for the modular distant learning.
The turnover was done in the presence of Provincial Board Members Gerardo “Boboy” Sabal III, Virgilia “Bebing” Dumadag, Dexter Yasay, Kerwin Jess Soldevilla, and Leonard Winstanley. Also present were PESO Manager and LSB Secretary Jerome Mundo; Schools Division Superintendent-Misamis Oriental Dr. Jonathan Dela Peña; and SDS Division of Gingoog City Representative Ms. Oliva Saranza.
Dr. Dela Peña, who received the amount in behalf of the teachers, extended his gratitude to Governor Emano, who he claimed, “very supportive to the endeavors of the DepEd.”
Saranza, representing SDS-Gingoog City Dr. Jesnar Dems Torres, also thanked Governor Emano for the aid.
“Dako namong pasalamat sa inyong mga ambag sa amo dinhi sa Division of Gingoog City, Division of Misamis Oriental ug Division of El Salvador. Kini dako kaayo nga tabang sa mga teachers ug non-teaching [personnel],” Saranza said.
All teaching and non-teaching personnel will receive P2,000 each from the said fund.
