CONTRABANDS were seized inside the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail and Rehabilitation Center (MOPJ) on Corrales-Luna Streets in Cagayan de Oro after Governor Bambi Emano ordered the conduct of Operation Greyhound or Oplan Galugad inside the facility on November 4, 2021.

Among the contrabands confiscated are drug paraphernalia, kilos of dried Tobacco leaves, packs of cigarettes, lighters and matches, knives, bolo, hammer, electric wires, mobile phones, television sets, water heaters, DVD player and speakers, electric stoves and kitchen wares.

This is the first operation inside the MOPJ under the watch of newly-appointed Jail Warden Robert Roy Bahian, who assumed the post less than six months ago.

Bahian was joined by elements of the Provincial Capitol Security Group, Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-10, Special Weapons & Tactics (SWAT), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)-K9, City Mobile Force Company (CMFC), Camp Alagar Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional and City Drug Enforcement Units (RDEU/CDEU), and the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO’s) Drug Enforcement Unit.

“Akong gipasabot ngadto sa mga binilanggo nga kini isip katungdanan sa pag-amuma nila nag-conduct kami sa maong inspection kay para malikayan nato ang mga disgrasya kay nakakuha man ta og mga sundang, kutsilyo ug uban pang mga butang. Nakakompiska pod kami og uban pang mga items o kontrabando sama sa mga drug paraphernalia,” Bahian said.

Governor Emano has been ordering regular inspections inside the MOPJ long ago to maintain peace, order and safety among the persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).
