THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan on December 6, 2021, approved on final reading the 2022 annual budget for Misamis Oriental amounting P4.2 billion.
The budget is inclusive for the 40 offices of the Provincial Government and the eight Misamis Oriental Provincial Hospitals (MOPH).
Vice Governor Jigjag Pelaez has said Governor Bambi Emano’s 2022 proposed budget is in line with the Provincial Government’s effort to fund several and sustainable programs on Health, Infrastructure, Agriculture, Education, Peace and Order, Transportation, Cooperative and Environment.
Board Member Gerardo “Boboy” Sabal III said several offices in the Capitol are converted into departments, including the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail and Rehabilitation Center (MOPJ), Provincial Information Office (PIO), Iskolar Ko Ng Bayan (IKNB) and the Misamis Oriental Care System (MisOrCares), which need funds to sustain the delivery of basic services to the people of Misamis Oriental.
Sabal said these department-converted offices, which are included in the 2022 budget, are vital in the delivery of basic services to the Misamisnons.
