The PAGLAUM Women’s Congress (Cluster 1) was held at the Covered Court of Initao National Comprehensive High School in Initao, with the theme “Kababayen-an Napaghum Katambayayong sa Paglaum” During the event, various activities were organized to celebrate and recognize the contributions of women in building hopeful and resilient communities. Municipalities such as Gitagum, Libertad, Initao, Naawan, Manticao, and Lugait participated in the event.
We give cash prizes and appliances to attendees through raffle draws. The prizes included 5 television sets, 10 rice cookers, 15 electric kettles, and 10 electric fans. Additionally, a thousand 3-kilogram bag of rice will be given and each participant and attendees will receive 1 bag of rice as a token of appreciation.
One of the highlights of the women’s congress was the dance contest, which showcased the talent and creativity of the participants through women’s empowerment. In this competition, Naawan secured 2nd place, receiving a cash prize of 15,000 pesos along with a plaque. Manticao claimed the 1st place, earning a cash prize of 25,000 pesos and a plaque. Lastly, Lugait emerged as the champion, receiving a cash prize of 30,000 pesos and a plaque for their outstanding performance. The remaining participants were also given consolation prizes worth 10,000 pesos each.
Overall, the PAGLAUM Women’s Congress served as a platform to empower and honor women while fostering unity and collaboration towards a hopeful future for the community.
